Error 52 Bad File Name or Number when Starting the Program

Description of Problem or Issue

When launching the program, you receive an Error 52 Bad File Name or Number. The program then appears to start but fails to load the menu bars.

Resolution
This is caused by using the "Add/Manage Database List" and adding database locations that begin with a \\ rather than a drive letter. If the location OR file no longer exists you will get the Bad File name or number error.

For versions 8.4 and below, you will need to do the following (or send file to us with a note to delete the bad location):

1) Open a file called LocalDefaults.accdb in your c:\program file\instant quote professional\ folder. Open this file directly using MS Access.. (if you do not have full ms access, you will need to send us this file).

2) Next Locate and Open the table: tDatabaseLocations

3) Remove the record that has the bad file location (location that no longer exists and starts with a \\).

4) Exit and Restart the program and all should be well.

Note: If the database no longer exists but starts with a drive letter, you will not receive the error.
